All aboard the Google Digital BusPublished on: November 14, 2019
Portsmouth College hosted The Google Digital Garage Bus today as part of Google’s commitment to provide free digital skills training to people across the UK and in collaboration to our ‘Curious and Creative’ learning project using iPad technology.
Interactive workshops covering topics such as social media, digital marketing and advertising gave students the opportunity to build strategies and develop digital skills.
The initiative first began in 2017 and has recently opened a space on the high-street in Portsmouth that offers training, 1:1 mentoring and sessions for confidence building, career development and business growth.
Google staff aboard the bus commented on how engaged the students were, positively discussing and sharing skills with great knowledge and interest in the digital world.
Chris Wood, Curriculum Team Leader and Apple Distinguished Educator said;
It’s amazing to have the The Google Digital Garage Bus at Portsmouth College. Our students are getting unparalleled access to industry experts to prepare them for the digital workplace they will be entering.”
The Google team will return soon to deliver more sessions for students and staff.
