A group of our T Level Digital Support Services students have been given an insight into the world of work with a series of mock job interviews.

The interviews were carried out by members of our support team together with Emma Gotz, T Level Strategic Lead for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (part of the NHS).

Emma was impressed by the students. She later commented: “At the NHS we are keen to support Digital T Level students as part of our workplace development plans.

“We see the value in work readiness and want to support young people with the hope that they want to come and work with us.

“We’re keen to offer placements so it was lovely to meet the students. They were confident, articulate and enthusiastic about their subject.”

Our Work Experience and Industry Placement Co-ordinator Vicky Halliday said industry placement is a key component of T Level qualifications so it’s vital that students are prepared for the workplace, including being able to apply for and confidently interview for relevant opportunities.

“Time and time again, employers are feeding back that work readiness is just as important as academic achievements, so I’ve made the work readiness sessions accurately reflect this.”

One of the students, Ilyaas, said: “I was a bit nervous but it turned out to be OK. Having the opportunity to practice means I know more about what to expect in real interviews.”

Another, Nosokhare, added: “It’s been really helpful to have this interview experience and having the opportunity for feedback shows me what I need to work on.”
