The College is really central in the City and I knew lots of people who have had a great experience here. It offered all the creative subjects I wanted to do with impressive art facilities.
When looking around at different colleges, Portsmouth College really stood out for me and gave me the best opportunities. So far I have really enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it to anyone.
My first interaction with Portsmouth College was at an Open Evening. The Principal warmly greeted everyone and the teachers were inviting, engaging and showed a genuine interest in their potential pupils. The timetable was a great asset, with later starts and no trapped time. Everything from the timetable to the classroom displays was meticulously put together, which I can now resolutely say is the definition of Portsmouth College.
The campus is easy to get to from anywhere in the City. I liked the layout and the learning environment of the college which helped the transition from school to college much easier. The teachers I spoke to before applying gave me a lot of confidence that I would do well at Portsmouth College.
The extra-curricular opportunities through the E6 Personal Development programme and More Able Students’ programme meant that I felt I’d be able to stand out from the crowd when applying to university. Portsmouth College just felt like the right place for me and I’m glad I made the choice to study here.
Portsmouth College has a great environment and there were a lot of things that attracted me to the college when I first came to the Open Day and Taster Day events. I really liked the flipped learning aspect as it’s an engaging way of learning which pushes me to my potential. The timetables are very relaxed and well designed to allow students to have time for both social activities and education, and for me it eases the challenge of balancing such complex subjects.
