WELCOME TO THE FOURTH EDITION OF THE NEW PRINCIPAL’S BLOG, WHICH IS RELEASED EVERY MONDAY IN TERM TIME.
Teachers are currently contacting our first year and level 2 students to get their feedback on how they are coping with remote teaching and learning. We are asking you to fill in a Google Form on this so we can learn from it and make adjustments as necessary. We appreciate these are unprecedented times and the way you are having to learn is very different from normal, so we are interested in what you have to say about this.
Please take a few minutes to fill this in.
When might College re-open?
We are hearing a little more news about future government plans for easing the current lockdown.
It is very important to stress that for the time being the restrictions remain in place and need to do so, to help to try and keep the virus under control.
However, the government is beginning to draw up plans for mapping a gradual route out of lockdown. Clearly this will eventually include the reopening of colleges in some form.
As of this moment:
We have had no communication from the government on this yet and certainly no firm dates
We are just starting our planning around a series of reopening scenarios and in particular what college would need to look like to operate safely and with appropriate social distancing
We will update you on this each week in this blog
We will make sure we are ready to reopen in some form as soon as we are told we are able to by the government
