New Principal at the helm from SeptemberPublished on: August 21, 2018
The College is delighted to announce that Simon Barrable, our current Deputy Principal, has been appointed as Principal from September 2018.
This follows the imminent retirement of our current Principal, Steve Frampton, who has led the College for thirteen years. Having spent several years as Steve’s deputy, Simon is perfectly placed to continue the very successful journey the College is on, as we move towards our goal of becoming an outstanding institution.
Simon is thrilled with his new appointment;
“I am proud and honoured to be taking over as the new Principal of this very popular College. Having worked here for a number of years, including as Deputy Principal, it has been fantastic to be part of the very successful journey the College has been on. September will mark the start of the next stage of this journey, where we seek to provide an ever more outstanding education and service to Portsmouth and the surrounding area.”
Meanwhile, the journey continues for Steve Frampton. He has recently been appointed as President of the Association of Colleges (AoC), a prestigious national role. The AoC represents all further education colleges in the country, so Steve will be shaping and influencing post-16 education at the very highest levels.
Steve Frampton MBE said:
“I am truly honoured and grateful to be given the opportunity to be the next President of the AoC – it is an organisation that delivers so much value to the FE sector. Simon will no doubt take Portsmouth College to a new level.”
Steve will be a huge asset to the Association of Colleges team and we wish him the very best of luck in this prime role in the Further Education sector.
