Blott Matthews E4E ChallengePublished on: May 31, 2018
Well done to Science students who recently competed in the Blott-Matthews Engineering Competition ‘Energy for Everything’ for Sixth Form Colleges.
The task was to design a carbon-neutral mega-city in the area between Southampton and Portsmouth; which is something our Principal, Steve Frampton, has a great interest in, having worked on integrated sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions himself. The competition brief included renewable energy generation, carbon neutral transport solutions, carbon capture, and domestic energy savings.
Students gained a glimpse of the challenges and rewards of a career as a professional engineer applying state of the art technology to highly innovative concepts.
The team won second place out of 9 teams from 5 colleges in Hampshire and Oxfordshire, for the second year running.
