The College is closed until further notice.
You may be aware about the guidance that the government has released in relation to 1st year Level 3 students and a potential return to college no earlier than 1st June. The college is currently looking at the safest way in which this can be achieved and therefore we are unable to release any detail on this at the moment. We will be communicating with students and parents in due course once we have detailed plans and approaches in place. In the meantime, online teaching will continue.
Awarding of Exam Results
England’s exam regulator, Ofqual, have released a decision regarding the assessment of GCSE, AS level and A level grades since all exams were cancelled as a result of COVID-19.
Teachers’ predictions for GCSE, AS level and A levels in England will be based on the evidence available to them, such as previous exam results, tests, homework, coursework, mock exams and more. Teachers will be asked to say what they think would have been the grades most likely to have been achieved if the summer exams had taken place based on an overall professional judgement.
They will also be asked to put students in order of expected achievement within each predicted grade band. This will be used to moderate the overall share of grades in schools across the country. Information about other qualifications such as vocational courses (BTEC/CTEC) will be available soon.
Guidance on Learning from Home
We have put together some guidance to outline what is expected of you during this closure period; please do download and read this information carefully to help you continue to learn effectively.
We would like to assure you that the Careers team will continue to offer you the best support they can on a remote basis. Please do not write with questions on exam results and university places just yet as we do not have any further information to offer at present. As more detail becomes available, we will keep you informed via email and direct you to the most appropriate sources of support.
If you have any questions or concerns in due course please send them to email@example.com
