This apprenticeship is designed for those who currently work, or would like to work, as a teaching assistant in a school. Apprentices will be expected to support teachers and pupils in a variety of settings including: primary, secondary or a specialist school environment.

Course Description
Requirements
Those who don’t have the desired GCSE A-C grade or equivalent in Maths/ English and ICT will need to commit to attend Functional Skills classes and an exam in the relevant areas. Initial assessments will identify the appropriate framework level for each apprentice.

This apprenticeship is suitable for a variety of roles within any industry. Some of these include:
- Teaching Assistant
- Classroom Assistant
- Classroom/Learning Support/Teaching Assistant
- Behaviour Support Assistant
- Pastoral/Welfare Support Assistant
Qualifications Gained
Depending on the level the candidate completes they will gain a:
- Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (intermediate)
- An apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
Course Duration
Course duration can vary depending on which level apprenticeship you choose. Duration of the Level 2 apprenticeship:
- Intermediate Apprenticeship – 12 Months
