Course Description

Location: Highbury Campus

Do you aspire to a career working within the healthcare and nursing sector? If you are looking to earn a qualification that will help you progress towards higher education and jobs within this exciting field. This course will provide you with the core knowledge, skills and experience required to help kick-start your journey to your future. The T Level combines learning in the classroom with gaining vital ‘on-the-job’ experience.

Our T Level Health and Nursing course is designed to increase your employment and progression prospects by having extended hands-on experience in a ‘real world’ healthcare work placements, in which you will be supported by an expert. By completing this industry-recognised qualification, you can progress onto many different roles (i.e. healthcare support worker, care assistant or ambulance care assistant) as well as apprenticeships or higher education (i.e nursing or other medical degrees.)

In the first year you will study 3 units which give you the knowledge, theories and principles as well as core skills for the healthcare science sector. The units studied are:

  • Working within the Health and Science Sector
  • Science Concepts
  • The Employer Set Project

In the second year you will focus on the specialism of Adult Nursing. This will involve you learning about clinical tasks that are carried out on adults such as wound dressings. You will learn how to support adults in their daily life and the role of a nurse during care. Some lessons will take place in our new classrooms set up as a hospital-style ward.

Each T level includes an industry placement that lasts at least 45 days. This will give you an excellent insight into the industry, gaining the skills and knowledge needed.

Once you complete your T Level programme you will receive an overall grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.

Following a T Level in Health and Nursing you can go on to work in a number of different roles, including  (i.e. healthcare support worker, care assistant or ambulance care assistant) as well as apprenticeships or higher education (i.e nursing or other medical degrees.)
