The Unloc Enterprise Academy, a programme of Social Enterprise Unloc, is to launch a co-working space for young people aged 16-20 in the Portsmouth area to further support entrepreneurship within the city.

Its mission is to support and incubate young people running start up businesses, charities and community projects in Portsmouth. The centre has 8 hot-desking spaces, a large collapsible conference room space and two meeting pods as well as up to date technology including high spec computers and 3D printers.

Unloc's Managing Director, Hayden Taylor, stated;

The initiative is to further encourage entrepreneurship in Portsmouth for students and young adults. All members of the hub are able to make full use of the phoned, printers, meeting spaces and hot desking spaces to work on their business, charity or community projects. All with the use of all facilities in the hub, young people will be able to work within an environment that lends support and advice for all."

"This is an essential space for young people in the city", commented Ryan Waters, Unloc Enterprise Academy Operations Manager; "as 5.4million SMEs form the backbone of the UK economy. The importance of these 99.7% of businesses will only increase in near future and providing them with a free to use space is just one of the ways we plan to help."

The Young Innovators Hub is located on the ground floor of Portsmouth College and you do not need to be a current student at the College to apply for a space.

If you want to apply for a space in the hub, you need to be aged 16-20, living in Portsmouth or surrounding area and have a business, charity, a concept that you are working on or a community project you are running (or looking to run) in Portsmouth.

The Hub plans to officially launch at the start of the new year, however, online applications can be submitted now at www.younginnovatorshub.co.uk
