Portsmouth College Men’s Football Academy, in Partnership with Soccerette Academy.

Winning will be Academic for Portsmouth College next year!

Portsmouth College is delighted to announce a new partnership which it hopes will lead to a huge amount of success for its students both on and off the field.

By teaming up with the Soccerette Academy and the University of Portsmouth Athletic Union we have created player pathways for our students in an array of different sports.

MEN’S FOOTBALL, WOMEN’S FOOTBALL, MEN’S BASKETBALL, WOMEN’S BASKETBALL, BADMINTON, RUGBY, NETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL are the sports which will make up the Sports Academies supported by participation clubs in DANCE, TABLE TENNIS, FITNESS, TAI-CHI AND YOGA.

Soccerette Academy director Tom Lloyd said: ‘It is my aspiration to create a dynamic  sports environment across the college which not only enhances the student experience but really puts Portsmouth College on the sporting map. By getting the University of Portsmouth on board we have created a framework of support for the college students which will see further and higher education dovetail together and hopefully inspire our students to excel both academically and in their chosen sporting field’.

Player Assessments, Academy branding, scholarships to the U.S, coach education programme, talent identification, links to community clubs – all of these will be implemented next year and you could be part of it.

This partnership, as well as the new £4 million Goals centre opening in August, means that Portsmouth College really is the place to be for sport in 2010
