Levels of attendance at Portsmouth College have risen very encouragingly in the current academic year.  We have a fantastically enthusiastic and ambitious cohort of students at present and this is reflected in their high average rates of attendance.

A record number of students achieved 100% attendance in the Autumn term i.e. they attended every scheduled teaching and tutorial session, and without ever being late.  The names of each of these students were entered into a draw to win the fabulous prize of an iPad2, with nine runners up prizes also on offer.

AS level student Katie Rowsell was understandably delighted to learn that her name had come out of the ’hat’ first.  On being presented her iPad by College Principal, Steve Frampton, Katie commented that this was something she would really value and make full use of in College.

Runners up prizes were awarded by Deputy Principal, Kevin Grieve, to the next nine names drawn from the hat: Jack Woods, Charlotte Morgan, Jack Cox, Michael Martin, Daniel Thomson, Carina Abery, Harrison O'Brien, Nathan Brown and Christopher Marsh.  However, we would like to congratulate all of our students who have achieved maximum or excellent attendance in the year to date.

All students now have another opportunity to win an iPad2 if they achieve 100% attendance from January 16th until 31st May.

The College is continually looking at ways to improve students’ attendance as we know there is a very close correlation between attendance and success on courses.
