Mixing desk

If you choose this course, you will be on an exciting journey, learning many vocational skills for working in the music industry, as well as the chance to find out how the industry works.

You will develop your knowledge and skills as a musician in the practical live work you perform, as well as learning new ways to treat, edit, manipulate and enhance recorded music. Students that come to the course interested in the studio and live sound engineering aspects of the course will find opportunities throughout the 2 year course to develop these talents.

It is a very demanding course, requiring creativity, commitment and very good attendance. It also requires a genuine interest in the industry as a whole, for example how record companies, managers and venues work. But it is also a very rewarding course that can lead to working on the live circuit, working in a studio or studying music technology further at university. There are many gigs in the area and in College throughout the year.

This course gives you the chance to explore your own musical talent, debate where the music industry is going and learn new skills using the PA and studio equipment.
