OCR National Certificate in Health, Social Care & Early Years

What will I study?  You will investigate careers in health care, social care and early years.  You will have the opportunity to develop your communication skills and to find out more about what it takes to work in the care sector.  There are twelve coursework-based units to take and no exams.  For some of the optional units you can choose subjects which best suit your career interests; specialising in one of health care, social care or early years care.

You will have the opportunity to achieve additional qualifications in literacy, numeracy and preparation for employment.

Career opportunities and further study:  This course leads directly on to level 2 qualifications in Health, Social Care and Early Years. It is also excellent preparation for the workplace.

Enrichment:  Your teacher will discuss your career options with you and help you find a suitable work placement.

This is a one-year course equivalent to four GCSEs at grades D-G
